Who runs Paraglide Portugal?
Arnold Marx is an experienced tandem
and cross country pilot.
He began flying in
South Africa in 1992,
spent years doing
tandems in Aspen, USA
and has many many
hours of flying in hot,
dry terrain like Texas,
the Colorado Rockies, Kuruman and
Rustenberg (South Africa) and now the
Serra da Estrela (Portugal). He flies both
paragliders and
hang gliders.
His wife Marié,
is a talented hostess
and chef, who worked in the catering and
hospitality industries for many years and now
takes great delight in looking after her own customers and making them happy.
Airport Pickup:
We can collect you from Porto -€150 per trip shared.

Take a bus to Celorico da Beira and we'll meet you there.

Take the A1 north towards Coimbra/Oporto for approx. 90 km.
Take Exit 7 onto A23 towards Abrantes/CasteloBranco/Guarda/Spain for approx. 210km.
Merge onto A25 heading towards Viseu/Aveiro for approx. 25km.
Take exit 25 towards Gouveia/Seia/Serra da Estrela, continue on N17 for approx. 12km
Turn left at church in Vila Cortes da Serra,continue for 350m.Lodge off to left on dirt track
50m before the bridge over the creek.
From Porto:
Head south following signs for A1/Lisboa appox. 70km.
Take exit towards A25/Viseu/Guarda/Spain , continue for approx.115km.
Take exit 24, follow signs Gouveia/Seia/Serra da Estrela, continue on N17 for approx. 12km
Turn left at church in Vila Cortes da Serra,continue for 350m.Lodge off to left on dirt track
50m before the bridge over the creek.
